The Anti-Ragging Cell is constituted as per UGC regulations to ensure a safe and ragging-free campus. The Cell adopts a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging and works to prevent, prohibit, and address any incidents through awareness, monitoring, and prompt redressal. It is committed to maintaining a campus environment based on mutual respect, discipline, and student well-being.
Ragging in any form is prohibited and any incidence of indulging in ragging will be reported to the police. Ragging is a non-bailable offence. Ragging may also attract punishment as per section 4 of the "The Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1998" which leads to imprisonment, for a term of maximum 2 years and a fine for ten thousand rupees in conviction. As per the instructions from University of Calicut and Govt of Kerala, the College has an antiragging committee constituting of Teachers, Parents and students. The committee monitors the menenance of ragging in the institution.
Ragging of any type or dimension is banned on College campus. Anti-ragging Committee has been constituted to make the campus ragging free. An anti-ragging squad with faculty from various disciplines is also functioning in the institution. Following the ruling of the Supreme Court of India, UGC has introduced regulations to curb the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions in the year 2009. UGC REGULATIONS ON CURBING THE MENACE OF RAGGING IN HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS 2009Each student and his/her parents/ guardian shall have to furnish an affidavit along with the application form to the effect that they will not participate in or abet the act of ragging and that, if found guilty, shall be liable for punishment under the penal law of India.
